Places and People of the First Century Christian Church

The purpose of this work is not to serve as a biblical commentary. Rather, its purpose is to give a chronological and historical background to the biblical text. The opening section will give some foundational context to the New Testament, then move to the resurrection and ascension of our Lord. This is approximately where the Book of Acts begins. The book runs parallel to Luke’s second volume, adding some historical data and other backgrounds throughout.Throughout this work, events are placed in as close to chronological order as possible. On some dates, there is open discussion and some of them are difficult to pin down. Rather than lay out all of the arguments for earlier or later dates, the reader is encouraged you to do your own study in the various commentaries. Read more
